About Julia Blanchette PhD, RN, CDE

You might know me as NurseJebCat from Instagram or JBlanchetteCDE from Twitter where I have shared bits and pieces of my type 1 diabetes (T1D) experiences. T1D in the CLE is another platform to share a little bit about my life and some T1D insight.

I currently work as a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) and Registered Nurse (RN) in Cleveland, OH. I also just finished up my PhD in Nursing Science which focused on young adults and how the cost of T1D and mental health impact self-management outcomes… Don’t worry, I’ll share some grad school stories at some point. I also enjoy adventures at diabetes camp (yeah Camp Ho Mita Koda!) and have been attending/working at diabetes camps since I was nine years old.

I have lived with T1D for the past 20 years and consider myself to be bold with self-management! I love connecting with others and learning from their self-management experiences. I’m a total technology geek– I am eager to try new diabetes devices and I wear an insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor. But most importantly, I am a self-proclaimed diabetes enthusiast! I cannot wait to talk about T1D with you!
